Please address any questions about poster submissions to one of the Program Co-chairs, either Bruce Thomas (bruce.thomas@unisa.edu.au) or Mark Smith (msmith@hpl.hp.com). PANELS We invite you to openly debate a wearable related issue with a group of experts. A panel offers an opportunity for 3-5 people (including the chair) to present their views or results on a common theme, issue, or question. Panels should cover timely topics related to the conference areas of interest. Panel selection will be based on the importance, originality, focus and timeliness of the topic; expertise of proposed panelists; as well as the potential for informative (and even controversial) discussion. A panel summary and position statements will be included in the proceedings. Panels must allot at least 50% of the time for interaction and discussion with the audience. To submit a panel proposal, do the following: * Write a summary that describes what you plan to discuss. The summary should also include a description of the panel topic, including why this topic is important to the ISWC Conference attendees; 1-3 pages, and a brief position statement and qualifications of each panelist; 1 - 3 pages. Be sure to include the contact names, affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, electronic mail addresses, and associated URL (if any). * By May 6, 2002, submit the summary as a PDF file and contact information of the panel electronically via the ISWC website. See the web site for details. Please address any questions about panel submissions to one of the Program Co-chairs, either Bruce Thomas (bruce.thomas@unisa.edu.au) or Mark Smith (msmith@hpl.hp.com). CORPORATE / PERSONAL CASE STUDIES We invite you to present your recent wearable developments and applications, inform the audience of your future directions, discuss wearable related business issues, or showcase your noteworthy wearable products and services. Corporate/Personal Case Studies are not included in the Proceedings and require no formal printed materials. * Write a one-paragraph-long summary that describes what you plan to discuss. Be sure to include the contact names, affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, electronic mail addresses, and associated URL for the company (if any). * By May 6, 2002, submit the summary as a PDF file and your contact information of the electronically via the ISWC website. See the web site for details. Please address any questions about corporate or personal case studies to the Industry Relations Chair, Chandra Narayanaswami (chandras@us.ibm.com). TUTORIALS / WORKSHOPS (3 hours) We invite you to share your wearable related knowledge with other conference attendees. Tutorials and Workshops are intended to enhance the skills and broaden the perspective of their attendees. They should be designed to introduce a rigorous framework for learning a new area or to provide advanced technical training in an area. Workshops differ from tutorials in as much as they may include a wider range of activities such as working position groups, hands-on experiences with hardware/software provided, or standards efforts. Possible examples include conducting usability studies, introduction to augmented reality, designing speech-based interfaces, or wireless networking technology. To apply to give a tutorial or workshop, do the following: * Write a summary that describes what you plan to teach/workshop. Include a clear description of the objectives, the intended audience (experience level and prerequisites), a 200-word abstract, a 1-page topical outline of the content, and a summary of the instructor's qualifications. Be sure to include the contact names, affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, electronic mail addresses, and associated URL for the company (if any). * By May 6, 2002, submit the abstract, outline, qualification statement, and contact information of the workshop electronically as a single PDF file to the web site http://iswc.tinmith.net Please address any questions about tutorial or workshop submissions to the General Chair, Mark Billinghurst (grof@hitl.washington.edu). EXHIBITIONS We invite you to exhibit your products, fashion designs, services, or research projects during the conference. Exhibitions will be available continuously in a room (or rooms) near the meeting room. Exhibitors will show their products and distribute promotional literature to interested conference attendees.
